Awaiting spring. At this point, the building has been moved by the IMD to a site near the translator building. It has been approved to run power feed aerially. The building has yet to be signed over to Oneida county and so everything is on hold.

More changes in progress. At this point, the building is being moved by the IMD to a site near the translator building. It has been approved to run power feed aerially. Once building has been moved it will be formally handed over to Oneida county and we can begin work to move equipment.

Will see about assigning a mobile/rover position to assist with relay as needed. Don to take charge of this effort.

More changes in progress. Still unofficial, but it appears county does not own building, so all on hold. Currently awaiting results of discussion between Idaho Military , who own building, and Bureau of Land Management to come to a decision.

Tech training class and exam session. Don available to start classes Oct on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings. Will need about 10 sessions to cover material. Will tentatively plan for Thursday evenings for about 2 hours once a week to run first week of Oct and weekly thru week before Thanksgiving. Testing session to be set up either the Saturday before Thanksgiving or the first Saturday of December. Will work to get a VEC from outside the club. Discussion for general class mentioned and possibly do something for those interested similar times. Will discuss with Don to confirm.

Repeater News:
Club is now registered as Radio Amateur Club Of Oneida Neighbors Inc. with the state of Idaho. Application to become a 501c3 nonprofit has been submitted to the IRS.
In summary, we will move into another building and have several options mainly focusing on the county. Bill did a follow up presentation to the Oneida County Commissioners due to new developments since last presentation on Sept 11, 2023. On July 30, 2024 an email was received saying the communication lease was established with Bureau and the county. Proposed time line, 8/12/24 to set up a lease between county and the Racoons. No plan to spend any money or do anything until all is in writing.
Fundraising: Troy
Raffled a handmade bell decoration, quilt, and an original painting by Jenny Wolf. Primary purpose being to raise funds to maintain the repeater.
Thank you to all who helped out. Total raised - $1012
Tickets were sold for each separate item, blue tickets for the painting.
Ticket pricing is $5 per ticket or $20 for five tickets cash only.

Repeater News:
501 c 3 and incorporation with the state. Club is now incorporated with the state. Next is to become non-profit organization. This will allow the club to establish leases with the municipality for the repeater as well as make the club eligible for grants. Organization will be called Radio Amateur Club of Oneida Neighbors, Inc. Club email is K7RCN@gmail.com . By laws must be changed. Final reading done to change Article 8, Donations, Operations, Dissolution. Motion made by Jim all approved.
The Commissioners decided in favor of signing the agreement of taking over said new building on the mountain. Discussions continue toward county owning building and actual signing of the communications contract between county and Bureau of Land Management. Possible insurance costs about $350 a year which is the concern of the county attorney or signing a waiver.

Got title for trailer. Now we need to decide who to have the title transferred to. The club or a specific individual. Need to ask DMV what they want.
School District has offered us their radios, power supplies, and a VHS repeater. Bret is determining if the radios/repeater are useful to the club. We have 24 icoms, 4 of which are new, and 4 older radios for a total of 40 radios. Radios are VHF 4 channel.

Club callsign K7RCN trustee now to be Don Daniels WD9DWD, Change has been processed.
UTVHFS and FCC records will also be updated to bring repeater trustee information up to date as currently the information is not correct.
An RV air conditioner circa 2008 may be donated to the club for installation on the comms trailer. Jim to work out details and install if accepted.
Other changes suggested after WFD, perhaps remove one counter along wall in favor of small pop-up tables. General idea is to make the trailer as modular as possible to allow setup based on use case. Further suggestions for changes should be directed to Jim.
Winter Field Day 27-28 January. Set up at the city park with three stations outdoors on generator power.
Record submission done during meeting, official certificate has been received.
3348 points, 221 contacts, worked CW, JS8, and SSB on all major bands - Scoring yet to be finalized by the WFD Association.
A huge thank you to W0GOP Evan Day for showing up from Brigham with his CW paddle. He multiplied our score big time and contributed to the fun.

Winter Field Day 27-28 January. Setup to begin at 08:00 on Saturday, contest starts at 12:00. Will be held at the Malad City (Airplane) Park as in years past. Currently planning on three stations and two trailers. Estimated to use 6-10 gallons of fuel for generator. Conditions expected to be good as it is near the peak of the current solar cycle this year.
Good of the Club: Distributed participation certificates for the Great Idaho Shake out. We will have a representative on the DIGB5. AUXcomm.

Bureau of Land Management and the repeater site:
Currently awaiting direction from Bureau which will probably come in Spring at the earliest. Work on repeater this last week was done by Bret, Jim and Bill. Batteries replaced, adjusted voltage, installed new power supply, and isolator installed. Lightning strike damage was observed requiring repair and retuning. Over 20 hours spent on the mountain over two days. Inspected the old building we may potentially occupy in the future.
Great American Shake out occurred Oct 19 at 10:19 am:
Reviewed things that went well and what needs improvement. EOC location was able to hear all stations. Hospital antenna not working well, possible obstructions and foliage. Sherriff did not participate. Conclusions include the need for adding roaming patrol, continue this event yearly, and expand to more detailed exercise. This could include starting from home initially before moving into other positions during the event. Hospital administrator was happy for doing the drill due to it meeting their emergency drills/requirements.

Great American Shake out – Oct 19 at 10:19 am. Involves emergency preparations for an earthquake. Takes place the third Thursday of October. Don and Fred are coordinating volunteers to activate radios at various sites around the county. Participants to meet at the fire station following the event for discussion and debrief. The drill will start on area simplex then transition to the club repeater.
Annual Dec Dinner and meeting. Decided to do a raffle/meal at Welch Festival on the last weekend of next June.

BLM has called for a Meeting on Tuesday, Aug 8 at 11:00 am at the repeater site of all parties which have equipment at the site. Jim, Fred and Bret plan to attend.

Flood Warning in effect for the county with major concern of the reservoirs spilling over their banks, but not a concern for failure, just spilling over. All due to snow melt and weather forecast of rain over next several days. Deep Creek, Devils Creek, Kid’s Pond and Crowthers. Can everyone please monitor club repeater in case we are needed to report problems of roads and such to Brian, KI6ICC, or you can text him as well.
Lots of June activities. Museum Ship Weekend June 3-4. As of May 31, All base stations need to meet exposure levels. Handheld and mobile radios are exempt. Lewis and Clark Trail on the Air June 3-18.

Old Business:
Chips for repeater, battery backup and grounding on hold until spring thaw.
Interference between Malad club repeater and the Intertie is an intertie issue and will be addressed further in spring when the repeater can be accessed.
Tech training starts next meeting.

May - Fox Hunting.
List of authorized club members to our emergency radio locations, Emergency located radios need to be standardized with same channels at all locations. This is an ongoing discussion. Fred met with hospital administrator and all equipment was tested and working. Holbrook Simplex seems to be working.
Club By-Laws Article 5 Membership changes were moved by Sean, accepted and passed as written.
Use of the website. Tracy and Bret were able to post meeting minutes to site prior to meetings. Remember, personal data is not to be put on the website.
Fox Hunt- we plan to have one on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7 at the Air Plane Park/Malad City Park starting at 9am. This is the Saturday after the May meeting where we will discuss how to do a fox hunt.
Discussion of emergency Trailer needs to have repairs. Jim provided a list of items for the trailer. Upon discussion, a few questions came up. What is the desired purpose of the trailer and what do we really want to be able to do with trailer in an actual emergency. Members will ponder this and will return to this issue next meeting. We need to locate the title prior to making repairs.

There is a small area on the 10 m band for techs to be on HF frequencies. Contact Fred for additional details. Karl has been making lots of contacts this way.
New Business:
An antenna in exchange for cleaning out a garage in Salt Lake. Bret and Jim have the details. This will be scheduled when Glen Worthington, WA7X contacts the club and is ready for cleaning.
ARRL trainings via Zoom meetings. Thursday, April 27 is for Treasurer

Utah VHF Society Swap Meet was February 25, 2023 at the Legacy Event Center in Farmington, UT. Several members won prices in the drawing.

Old Business:
